Convicted murderer William Earl Lynd’s execution date is scheduled for next Tuesday, May, 6, 2008. At 7:00 P.M., he is scheduled to die by lethal injection at the Georgia Classification and Diagnostic Prison in Jackson Georgia, aka Jackson State Prison.

William Lynd was sentenced to death for killing his live-in girlfriend in December 1988. Victim Ginger Moore was shot two times by subject at the home they shared and then placed in the trunk of his vehicle. After hearing noises coming from the trunk, he pulled over and shot the victim again, killing her.

Lynd drove to Ohio where he shot another woman, Leslie Sharkey, when she stopped to offer him assistance.

The Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles has scheduled a clemency hearing for Monday. May 5, 2008 at 9:00 AM.

I didn’t ever heard of a man William Earl Lynd until I read a headline in my newspaper this morning. “Execution by lethal injection starting up again”. Altough William Earl Lynd has done the most terrible thing, murdering someone, He deserves a heavy punnishment, thats for sure. But killing someone “lethal” as a solution to stop potential murderers, I think this won’t help. William Earl Lynd was killed yesterday may 6th in Georgia, at the same time many people were killed by murderers in the USA and all over the world. I think it’s important for mankind to start for every human to educate an learn the “rules for living” as young as possible Hopefully we may understand each other better in the near future so we may “forgett” killing each other.

Speaking as a resident of Chesapeake, OH, where Lynd killed Leslie Jo Ann Starkey, I am relieved that he has had his sentence imposed. You can say what you want, but I DO NOT want these types of criminals having ANY ability to accidentally ever be out roaming the streets to hurt my family again. This man didn’t just murder 2 women either. He had a long history of raping women, kidnapping and all other types of malicious crimes. You can say all that you want about letting these murderers suffer in prison, but I say until you’ve dealt personally with the tragic loss of a loved one at someone else’s hands, you will NEVER understand. I only wish they could have imposed his sentence sooner!

Killing criminals is barbaric. It is not what Jesus wants. We are not to kill others-period. The United States is one of the most violent countries in the world-it is not a deterrent. Only a few countries share our zeal for capital punishment. Not very high on the human rights list: Iran, Iraq, China.
It is human to error divine to forgive. God Loves Everyone! We are too eager to kill. People that support the death penalty are not the decent folks they claim. Maybe they need some hypnotherapy to discover why they are supporting such an evil act.
